MTA72ASS16G72LZ-3G2 is a 128GB DDR4-3200 load-reduced ECC LRDIMM manufactured by Micron. This 288-pin server memory module is designed for compatible enterprise servers, storage appliances and data-center platforms that support high-capacity load-reduced DDR4 memory.

The module operates at 3200 MT/s with CL22 timing and the standard DDR4 voltage of 1.2V. In addition, its load-reduced design buffers command, address, control and data signals to reduce the electrical load placed on the server’s memory controller. Its 32Gb TwinDie construction and quad-rank 4Rx4 organization provide 128GB of capacity within one module.

Is MTA72ASS16G72LZ-3G2 Compatible With My System?

Before ordering, verify that your server supports 288-pin DDR4-3200 load-reduced ECC LRDIMM memory. The system must also support 128GB modules, TwinDie construction and quad-rank 4Rx4 organization. A DDR4 server memory slot alone does not confirm compatibility.

This module is not interchangeable with UDIMM, ECC UDIMM, SODIMM or standard RDIMM memory. Do not mix LRDIMMs and RDIMMs within the same system unless the server manufacturer explicitly documents support for that configuration.

This module uses a quad-rank 4Rx4 configuration. The “4R” designation refers to four logical ranks within one physical module, while “x4” describes the width of its DRAM devices. It does not mean that the customer receives four modules. Each unit ordered includes one 128GB LRDIMM.

When adding this module to existing memory, compare the complete part number and match the capacity, speed, ECC type, load-reduced architecture, rank and device organization. For best results, follow the server manufacturer’s approved memory population rules and qualified-vendor list.
